Ispirato a cinque novelle del Decamerone, il film, ironico e colorato, dei fratelli Taviani è uscito nelle sale cinematografiche il 26 febbraio 2015. Protagonisti, l'amore e "donne per lo più, giovani, meno giovani, tante femmine desiderose d’amare in libertà”.
Il film è stato girato tra la Toscana (tra il Castello di Romitorio fino a Villa La Sfacciata, che si erge sopra Firenze) e il Lazio (Castello Odescalchi a Bassano Romano, il Castello di Montecalvello, costruito dal longobardo Re Desiderio e reso famoso da Balthus, l’Abbazia di Sant'Andrea in Flumine, la benedettina Basilica di S. Elia.
